Challenger launching her seventh flight, carrying the Spacelab pressurised module
Today, the shuttle Challenger roared to life and shot into space today, lighting up the sky with a rush of fire as it set off on a 7-day mission carrying the Spacelab European Reusable Laboratory
This launch is the fourth of fourteen "throwback" missions that will be completed by FlightVector's NASA.
"This throwback will provide ample opportunity to pre-stage International Space Station Missions and ensure minimal breaks in the launch schedule. Several assets on KSC will be returned to their time-respective appearance to meet the year of launch." Said Yukisoru, Secretary at Ro-NASA.
The 17th Shuttle Program mission, and Seventh Challenger flight, is carrying its seven crew for seven days, performing various experiments onboard the European Space Agency's Spacelab 3. It is expect to return in March after the mission goals are completed.
