A Mercury Redstone rocket, carrying the Liberty Bell 7 capsule, launched today carrying Stereowired on his first flight to space for the project. This was the second flight for Nick's NASA.
Mission duration was just 17 minutes, covering 486km on a sub-orbital trajectory. Liftoff occurred on the 22nd of February from Launch Complex 5 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
"I would like to thank Nick for hanging in there for a few years so we can get the missions done. It really means a lot to me to see a dream fulfilled, even if that dream is a mission that sunk in the end" Said Stereowired, the astronaut on this mission.
The flight was a culmination of two years of work and preparation, beginning when Stereo started his role in Kodah's Retro NASA in 2023.
"Liberty Bell 7 went almost to plan. There were a few things that didnt go how they were supposed to, but were hoping to greatly improve these systems on the next launches." Said Nick, the Administrator of the group
While the original group is now defunct, its legacy continues with the retro NASA project started by Nick) in 2021.
